Ron Reagan attacks Trump ‘out of touch’ supporters who would pick Putin over a Democrat
The son of Ronald Reagan took a swipe at President Donald Trump’s supporters on Thursday, proclaiming they would sooner support Vladimir Putin for U.S. president than a Democrat, adding that they are “out of touch”
“No previous president could have gotten away with even a tenth of the things that Donald Trump has,” Ron Reagan, a veteran liberal commentator, said on MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews.”
“They aren’t really in touch with reality,” Reagan said. “And the most important thing to them is, I think, he seems to hate the same people that they hate.”

According to a new Gallup poll, 40 percent of Republicans believe Russia is either friendly or an ally to the United States. That’s up from only 22 percent in 2012.
Reagan blamed this new support for Putin on Trump.
“If you look at the polls, Putin’s popularity has gone way up,” he said. “I swear to you that if it were left just up to Donald Trump’s base, they would elect Vladimir Putin as president of the United States over virtually anybody with a ‘D’ after their name.”
