Ron Paul, the death of Chris Kyle, a tweet and a Facebook post
A tweet from the Twitter account of retired Texas Congressman Ron Paul earlier today concerning the shooting death of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle has drawn a lot of reaction, to say the least.
Here is a few sample responses to the tweet:
- If I never hear the words Ron Paul or Westboro Baptist Church again it will be too soon.
- Hey
@ronpaul have you lost you mind? That sword protected your freedom. Guess since I live by it I deserve to get murdered as well? - “What the Hell, @RonPaul? Are you actually blaming Chris Kyle for his own death?”
Ben Shapiro wrote in the “conservative” blog, Breitbart.com calling Dr. Paul’s tweet “despicable”.
In the same piece, there is an exclusive quote from Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, Ron Paul’s son, where he said:
“Chris Kyle was a hero like all Americans who don the uniform to defend our country. Our prayers are with his family during this tragic time.”
Just moments ago on the official Ron Paul Facebook page, the former Congressman posted the following:
One Facebook commentor said–“Thanks. We’re sick of the neocons interpreting your Tweet to mean you were against Mr. Kyle. They don’t understand that you are against government policies that cause harm to the people they send to war!”
