Ron Paul on Tonight Show giving advice to Rand Paul on running for President: ‘Be very cautious, you could get elected’

Former Texas Congressman and Presidential candidate, Ron Paul appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno Thursday to discuss policy, Rand Paul and his new book, The School Revolution.

In one of the most interesting parts of the interview, the host Jay Leno asked Dr. Paul about the situation at the Washington Navy Yard where Aaron Alexis killed 12 people over a week ago saying he got a high security clearance despite having some mental issues.

Paul says that the government is not very good at even protecting it’s military installations from this violence. He goes to say that “most people in Texas homes wouldn’t get invaded”, eluding to the chance that the homeowner might be armed.

The discussion also went on to the presidential aspirations of his son, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY). Paul denies advising or even really discussing the prospect of the major decision.

He does say he would tell him, “Be very cautious, you could get elected”.
