Robert Cray, Gary Puckett headed to Florida State Fair this weekend

As the Florida State Fair is approaching the final weekend of its 2016 run and there are still plenty of things to explore, enjoy – and eat!

In honor of the Fair’s 112th anniversary, there are more than 112 things to do this year at the Fairgrounds – all included in the price of gate admission, and this weekend is no exception. Check out some specials and details below.

Friday
Gary Puckett and the Union Gap
Gary Puckett and his band were one of the most popular musical groups of the 1960s. With an unmistakable voice, Puckett’s songs were part of the soundtrack of the era. Best known for Young Girl, Woman Woman and Over You, Puckett Union Gap performed on the famed Ed Sullivan Show, as well as before Presidents and princes. Today, Puckett makes his home in Clearwater and regularly tours the U.S. and Canada. He recently released a new album, Gary Puckett – Live, as well as his first-ever Christmas CD, At Christmas. Gary Puckett performs Friday, Feb. 12 at 7 pm on the Coca-Cola Headline Music Stage.

Saturday
Robert Cray
Cray is a five-time Grammy award winner who was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2011. Cray’s career spans more than 40 years – an extraordinary accomplishment for a musician. The band has recorded 20 studio releases, 15 of which have been on the Billboard charts, and played bars, concert halls, festivals and arenas around the world. Texas blues and R&B artist Jimmie Vaughan sums up Robert Cray’s singularity and success simply when he says, “He’s got one foot in the future and one foot in the old stuff.” The Robert Cray Band puts on an unforgettable show Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7pm on the Coca-Cola Headline Music Stage.

Ulises Hadjis is a Venezuelan singer-songwriter who was nominated for Best New Artist, Best Alternative Album and Best Rock Song categories at the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards. Hadjis recently received a Master degree in Philosophy, a discipline that feature prominently in his songs. Ulises Hadjis performs Sunday, Feb. 14 at 6pm on the Coca-Cola Headline Music Stage.

$5 Friday – All admission tickets are $5 after 5pm on Friday, Feb. 12. Sold only at the Fairgrounds.

4-H and FFA Day – Free admission for 4-H and FFA students with a member ID or jacket on Saturday, Feb. 13.

Student Day for Citrus and Highlands Counties – On Sunday, Feb. 14, Citrus and Highland students are admitted free with student ticket provided by their school system. After 6pm, students entering with a student ticket must be accompanied by an adult 21+. Free admission for an adult accompanying up to four students after 6pm.
