Right-wing writers Debbie Schlussel, Joel Pollak attack ‘anti-Israel’ Kayla Mueller
Not all of America is honoring the American hostage Kayla Mueller, who was murdered by Islamic State, and instead highlighting on the 26-year-old’s humanitarian work for Palestinians.
UPDATE: Joel Pollack contacted the Dispatch to say “your article is inaccurate regarding my comments. I spent much of hte day mourning her. Check timeline, facts 1st” — noted Joel, but the remark still stands.
“No tears for the newly-departed Kayla Mueller, the ISIS hostage whose parents confirmed today that she is dead,” conservative blogger Debbie Schlussel wrote on Tuesday, under the headline, “Kayla Mueller: Dead ISIS Hostage Was Jew-Hating, Anti-Israel Bitch.”
“Mueller was a Jew-hating, anti-Israel piece of crap who worked with HAMAS and helped Palestinians harass Israeli soldiers and block them from doing their job of keeping Islamic terrorists out of Israel,” she wrote.
Schlussel condemned Mueller’s humanitarian work with her Syrian boyfriend in the “so-called ‘West Bank'” to prevent the demolition of “terrorists’ ‘houses.'”
“I have no sympathy for any of these ‘American’ (in name only!) hostages of ISIS,” she continued. “And my attitude when I hear they’ve been snuffed out is, so sad, too bad.”
Schlussel called the killing of Mueller “poetic justice.”
Breitbart California editor and onetime Illinois congressional candidate Joel Pollak tweeted on Tuesday that Mueller’s “anti-Israel” activism cost her life at the hands of the Islamic State.
Sad that Kayla Mueller was anti-Israel activist. If she understood both sides she might have avoided idealizing the enemy that killed her — Joel Pollak (@joelpollak) February 11, 2015
The GatewayPundit also said Mueller was guilty of anti-Semitism and aiding terrorism.
“Mueller protested the Jews,” the post read, describing the International Solidarity Movement, a group opposing the Israeli occupation, as “pro-terrorist.”
