Rifftrax takes aim at ‘Sharknado 2’ with Live Fathom Event on Thursday
SyFy’s Sharknado was instantly a classic “bad film” as it was released on the network in 2013, and became an obvious target for the riffing team of RiffTrax.
A sequel came out in 2014, and RiffTrax is stepping up and taking aim at Sharknado 2: The Second One, which has essentially the same plot as the first film, for live event through Fathom Events on Thursday night at your local theater.
Now set in New York City, instead of Los Angeles, 90210 stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid must battle a tornado that drops a barrage of sharks on the Big Apple.
The RiffTrax team is Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett, formerly of Mystery Science Theater 3000 fame.
Rifftrax: Sharknado 2 will be shown on Thursday, July 9, LIVE at 8:00 p.m. ET/ 7:00 p.m. CT and tape-delayed to 7:00 p.m. MT/ 8:00 p.m. PT.
