Ridley Scott promises ‘Prometheus 2’ will answer questions about creation
The Prometheus sequel will pick up where the first movie left off with Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw and Michael Fassbender’s David the android headed to homeworld of the Engineers to have them answer a very important question: Why did they create humans and then try to eradicate us?
But that won’t be the only question sequel will answer, according to director Ridley Scott, who spoke about the new science fiction film while promoting The Martian.
“You have to follow through,” Scott told Collider when asked what his goals are for the sequel. “It starts off with a very grand idea—or a grand question, really. Who are they and why did they create such evil biology and bacteriology? And [in creating], to protect themselves from what? So the questions are answered there, or rather, beginning to be answered in Prometheus 2.”
Scott didn’t address if Michael Green‘s script is completed or going through a re-write, taking over for Damon Lindelof who exited the project a few years ago.
Prometheus 2 will begin filming in February of 2016.
The film is set to open in theaters on May 30, 2017.
