Review: Fathom brings Royal Opera House ‘Nutcracker’ up close
The seasonal favorite, The Nutcracker, is truly magnificent with the The Royal Opera Ballet bringing the tradition and majesty to life. Fathom Events continues to be a great way to get close to the action, experiencing the family party scenes, the growing Christmas tree and some awesome behind-the scenes looks.

Powerful live music drives the production with Francesca Hayward is a spirited and pleasant young Clara. Gary Avis truly amazed and is a great fit as the magician Drosselmeyer. Alexander Campbell, Laura Morera, and Federico Bonelli lead a great cast of talented artists.
Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece truly connects with the audience as Fathom allows the viewers to be intimately close to each performer, consuming the amazing details, especially in set design and costuming.
The Mouse King scene seemed to be a bit flat, but never distracted from the overall elegance of the production.
Overall The Nutcracker by ROH (via Fathom) receives 3 out 5 stars
