Record crowd expected for MegaCon 2013 as Cosplay, Star Trek, Anime and Comic Books fans all arrive

Costumed fans, TV and movies star, comic book creators and tons of activities pack an agenda for the Megaconvention in 2013. Beginning on Friday, fans began packing the Orange County Convention Center for the massive event.

MegaCon 2013 banner poster“We sold out of advance tickets. All of the vendors sold out of advance tickets and that was 28,000. We sell more walk-up tickets than pre-sale so we are expecting a big turnout,” Christine Alger, Director of MegaCon Operations, told The Global Dispatch.

“We topped 51,000 last year.”

Patrick Stewart headlines a unique reunion of the Star Trek The Next Generation cast for a meet and greet, photo ops and autographs. James and Oliver Phelps, Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, are also scheduled to draw massive lines of frenzied fans.

Neal Adams, George Perez, Ethan Van Sciver or just a few of the comic book creators who are also on-hand.

The convention runs through Sunday, March 17, and thousands of comic book-loving, anime-watching, video game-playing fanatics will be flocking to the Orange County Convention Center.
