Rand Paul declares the Death of the Tea Party
Last week, the U.S. of Representatives voted through a massive budget-busting deal, 284 to 149, which the Senate passed this week, 67 to 28, and President Trump signed it.

The budget legislation suspends the debt ceiling for two years and raises spending by $324 billion.
The Congress’s and President’s move on this huge spending prompted Kentucky Senator Rand Paul to take to the Senate floor and declare, “”The adoption of this deal marks the death of the Tea Party movement in America.”
Paul notes that legislation completely tosses aside any semblance of true financial restraint and embraces the kind of recklessness that has led to our nation’s $22 trillion debt.
The two-year budget will increase spending by $324 billion and allows the government to keep borrowing, even as the federal deficit approaches $1 trillion.
“Both parties have deserted – have absolutely and utterly deserted – America and show no care and no understanding and no sympathy for the burden of debt they are leaving the taxpayers, the young, the next generation, and the future of our country,” Paul said. “The very underpinnings of our country are being eroded and threatened by this debt.”
