Rand Paul calls on Ted Nugent to apologize for derogatory comments

The Motor City Madman, during an interview with the website, Guns.com, gave what many consider derogatory and inflammatory comments and descriptions of the President of the United States, Barrack Obama, which has caused an uproar among many in and outside the news media.

What did Ted Nugent say?

He told the interviewer at the SHOT Show 2014 that President Barack Obama was “a Chicago, communist- raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured, subhuman mongrel.”

Other comments included comparing the President to a chimpanzee and saying that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has “spare scrotums”.

The Nugent comments prompted CNNs Wolf Blitzer to compare it to Nazi rhetoric and whether Texas gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott should associate with Nugent.

One possible Republican presidential candidate tweeted in response to Nugent’s rant. Kentucky Senator Rand Paul tweeted yesterday: “Ted Nugent’s derogatory description of President Obama is offensive and has no place in politics. He should apologize.”

Despite the libertarian-leaning Republican’s request, it appears that Mr Nugent has no plan to do so. He also went to Twitter tweeting numerous responses to his critics. Below is a sample:

What are people on Facebook saying about Nugent’s rhetoric? On the Guns.com Facebook page it’s a mixed bag:

“1st Amendment freedom of speech Tell them like it is Ted !.”

“The last thing this country needs is a draft-dodging, racist, redneck coward running it. Stick with fighting for gun-rights Ted. It’s the only thing you’re useful for.”

“American voters get what they deserve. They voted for a free ride, cradle to grave and got none of it. I did not vote for him. But Ted starts out with a terrible ethics background that he cannot double talk away no matter what he thinks.”

and

“Nugent thinks he’s subhuman, the left thinks he’s the messiah. I’m stuck in the middle with the sane people who see Obama as an all too human typical incompetent narcissist lefty.”
