Pro-traditional marriage event at Ohio church offers Chick-fil-A gift cards, angers gay marriage supporters
This past Sunday, May 19th, a church located in Ohio offered $25 Chick-fil-A gift cards to every married, “husband and wife” couple. The coverage of the event sparked gay marriage supporters, especially the Huffington Post article which began: “Chick-fil-A continues to be the fast-food of choice for gay marriage haters.”
The ad in the Dayton newspaper and lead with the headline “A Day to Honor Biblical Marriage.”
It should be noted that while the ad does feature Chick-fil-A’s classic logo and mascot, the fast food chain told HuffPo in an email that they did not sponsor the event. The cards were reportedly purchased by a local restaurant and donated to the Cornerstone Baptist Temple.
Pastor Siler explained that he discussed the matter with Chick-fil-A representatives and it was billed an “honest mistake.”
He explained that a local businessman made a generous donation to his church recently and asked him to do something that would glorify biblical principles with the gift.
He then came up with the idea to have the “Biblical Marriage” day as a spinoff of days celebrating mothers and fathers. He then called up Chick-fil-A and arranged to purchase about $4,000 worth of gift cards from the company.
In Boston, the headline reads: “Anti-Gay Event Offers Free Chick-fil-A” and describes the theme of the event as “anti-gay.”
Some of the comments:
- “Biblical marriage” is polygamy, and is where a man owns his wives as property. Is that what they’re pushing now ?
- I DID see some footage from the tornado the other day and a nice looking strip mall was devastated. Guess what was in the midst of the wreckage, a nice CHICK-FIL-A store. If IT had been spared, while the godless nail salons and auto parts store had been smashed, I might think you were onto something with this God stuff, but there it was, just as ruined as the local massage parlor. Where was God that day when the chicken met the hot oil?
- Excellent! I’m going to take my wives, concubines, and female slaves down to the nearest Chick-Fil-A. It’s hard to feed that many mouths, but this is what God wanted for me. (We’re VERY traditional)
- Biblical Marriage: Find pretty girl – rape her – marry her – simple as scripture.
- I hope a homosexual couple goes, one dressed in full drag, just to f*** with them.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE ARTICLE’S SENTENCE, “Pastor Siler explained that he discussed the matter with Chick-fil-A representatives and it was billed an “honest mistake.”
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED, Chick-fil-A’s FOOD IS AWFUL. THE FOOD CHAIN SHOULD BE GLAD OF THIS FREE PUBLICITY. IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR gays, Kentucky Fried Chicken [AND, IN MEMPHIS, Church’s Chicken] WOULD BE THE ONLY FAST-FOOD “CHICKEN JOINTS” TO COME TO MIND WHEN DESIRING FAST-FOOD CHICKEN.
I SUPPORT MARRIAGE BETWEEN MALES AND FEMALES ONLY AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH, Chick-fil-A. THE DONOR FOR Cornerstone Baptist Temple CAN DO WHAT HE/SHE WANTS WITH HER/HIS MONEY.

How is a “Day to honor Biblical Marriage” an anti-gay event? Is every gay pride, pro-gay marriage event anti-heterosexual marriages?
“Stan,”
“Day to honor Biblical Marriage,” IS A SLOGAN WHICH REPRESENTS AN “INSIDER” IDEOLOGY THAT MOST HETEROSEXUALS ARE UNAWARE OF; SINCE THE CREATION OF RELIGION – REGARDLESS OF FAITH – MARRIAGE IS A CORNERSTONE. SINCE RELIGION’S CREATION, HOMOSEXUALS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ATTACKED BY THE CONCEPT OF “Adam&Eve.” SO, “to honor Biblical Marriage,” IS A “SNEAKY” WAY FOR CLERGY – WHO ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH ACTUALLY SAYING, “Homosexuals are going to “hell” – TO PUBLICALLY INDICATE HOMOSEXUALITY IS A DEVIATION FROM THE laws of “god.”
