President Obama moves ahead with executive order to ban AR-15 ammo
President Obama moving ahead with executive actions to impose gun control on the nation, targeting the top-selling rifle in the country, the AR-15 style semi-automatic, with a ban on one of the most-used AR bullets by sportsmen and target shooters.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives this month revealed that it is proposing to put the ban on 5.56mm ammo on a fast track, immediately driving up the price of the bullets and prompting retailers to urge sportsmen to urge Congress to stop the president.

Wednesday night, Rep. Bob Goodlatte from Virginia, the Republican chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, stepped in with a critical letter to the bureau demanding it explain the surprise and abrupt bullet ban.
“The Obama administration was unable to ban America’s most popular sporting rifle through the legislative process, so now it’s trying to ban commonly owned and used ammunition through regulation,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA-ILA, the group’s policy and lobby shop.
“The NRA and our tens of millions of supporters across the country will fight to stop President Obama’s latest attack on our Second Amendment freedoms.”
BATFE says that since the bullets can be used in semi-automatic handguns they pose a threat to police and must be banned from production, sale and use. But, as Goodlatte noted, offered no proof. Federal agencies will still be allowed to buy the ammo.
“This round is amongst the most commonly used in the most popular rifle design in America, the AR-15. Millions upon millions of M855 rounds have been sold and used in the U.S., yet ATF has not even alleged — much less offered evidence — that even one such round has ever been fired from a handgun at a police officer,” said Goodlatte’s letter.

can I get an actual source that says he is using the executive order on this? all the articles I have read say that he will, or he is planning to, but then goes straight to the ATF and their plans. I have yet to see anything besides conjecture on him doing this. Not saying he won’t, but just so far, seen nothing but accusations without much basis.
I have emailed all off my congressman and representatives. I’m tired of this. I want to hear impeachment.
What on earth is it going to take to stop this Tyrant. Why does this Congress respect Obama over “we the people”?. How did this happen? Why is it still happening? Why do our elected Senators and our Reps refuse to uphold and defend out Constitution as they swore to do when elected? How on earth can My State Rep and Senators let Obama “Spit in Our Faces”? Something is terribly wrong with All Three Branches of this Government. There will be hell to pay if “we the people” sit on our ass and do nothing about this. Me too. The apathy that American citizens exhibit now will only end in tyranny and oppression. We stand by as our individual rights are stripped away one by one. The Country falls further into socialism while most Americans are too fat and happy on government subsidies and artificial economic stimuli to notice. Idiots in Washington fail to understand that American’s greatest achievements have only come when we are a a truly free and unregulated society. Thereason we’ve been able to defend ourselves against our aggressors, is because we have been given the right to bear arms; to protect ourselves against all enemies foreign and domestic. Governments role should only be to provide police, military/ intelligence, and a judicial system. Perhaps the only things you as a loyal American can do are to engage in your local libertarian (be sure its not socialist libertarian)advocacy groups. This country voted like we did last Novmember to send a message. By God he is my president and commander in chief, but Its surprising with a house and senate thats full of conservatives, they can’t band together and block some of Obama’s socially-motivated exec orders. If they started an impeachment proceedings, that my get him to change his tune. Right now it seems they are all bark and no bite.
