The total number of pig farm samples that have tested positive for the PEDv since April 2013 now stands at 5,017, which is up 266 from the week before.
The number of states reporting at least one confirmed case of PED remains at 27, with Iowa accounting for 33 percent of the total farms affected (1,646).
Following Iowa is Minnesota, 793; North Carolina, 518; Illinois, 407; Oklahoma, 331; Indiana, 261; Ohio, 215 and Kansas, 214, all in triple digits.
16,377 swine samples have tested positive.
Despite the high numbers, officials say there is a general downward trend in positive case submissions.
In addition to the current US outbreak, Canada now has 44 confirmed outbreaks ( 41 of these in the province of Ontario) and outbreaks have been reported in Japan.
