Pope Francis ‘loses his cool’ in Mexico, yells ‘Don’t be selfish’
Pope Francis “lost his cool” while visiting with followers in Morelia, Mexico, on Tuesday got unruly with one person in the audience reportedly tugged at his robe, causing the pontiff to nearly fall on top of an individual in a wheelchair.
The incident, which was captured on video, unfolded after the unnamed fan grabbed the pontiff and wouldn’t let go, causing him to lose his balance and fall forward, with his chest briefly pressing against the head of the man sitting in the wheelchair in front of him. Check out the video clip below.
Yahoo reported that “Video footage showed that while the pope was walking at the edge of a crowd in an stadium, he stopped to greet children who were sitting…Two arms reached out to grab him and the person would not let go, even after the pope lost his balance and his chest was pressing on the child’s head.”
Aides and security guards stepped in to help Pope Francis get back on his feet, as it became immediately clear that the pontiff wasn’t happy about what had unfolded.
He briefly shouted, “Don’t be selfish, don’t be selfish,” as he shook his hands in irritation, the Daily Mail reported.
