‘Poltergeist’ remake adds Saxon Sharbino as oldest child of Bowen family
Touch actress Saxon Sharbino has joined the cast of MGM and Fox 2000’s Poltergeist remake, says The Hollywood Reporter. She will play 16-year-old Kendra Bowen, the eldest of the three Bowen children.
Sharbino joins Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt and Jared Harris in the horror remake, which starting filming on September 23 in Toronto.
“A typical teen, isolating herself from her family to focus on her friendships, … she realizes that her new home feeds on the isolation of others, [and] she must band together with her family to help save her youngest sibling … The story follows the Bowens as their home is terrorized and their youngest child goes missing when a supernatural force takes over.”

Gil Kenan is directing from a script by David Lindsay-Abaire.
Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert are producing via their Ghost House Pictures banner with Roy Lee. Nathan Kahane is executive producing.
Poltergeist is set for 2014, but no particular date has been set.
