Katherine Ann Grgich
Katherine Ann Grgich, age 55, a massage therapist from Palm Springs, California was found dead on Oct. 1 near the resort where she was staying.
Grgich was missing for several days, her luggage still in the hotel, before officials located her body on a trail in the jungle near the resort.
Now a full police investigation is underway.
“At first, they claimed it was a natural death,” said Grgich’s father, George Grgich, 82, of Santa Barbara. “We insisted they look into it, and police cooperated. … They revised it, saying she must have been attacked from behind because there were cuts on the back of her head.”
Cambodian law enforcement are searching for a suspect in the case, but have not released the identity of the suspected killer. Investigators zeroed in on this suspect after some of the victim’s missing belongings — likely a laptop or camera — were found in his house, George Grgich said.
