‘Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales’ to bring funny and touching script to screen says new director
The next film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise moves ahead with new directors and an official title.
Called Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales, new directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg spoke with Bestmoviesevernews.com about the new film.
“We want to make this fifth one feel fresh again with both the comedy and emotional elements in the great script from Jeff Nathanson,” Sandberg explained. “We both grew up on all those great 80′s epic adventure films like Indiana Jones, and it’s still unbelievable that we’re now in the process of making one. The script is really funny and touching, and it’s exciting to bring this vision to the big screen.”
The directing duo may be a new name for fans, but after Rupert Sanders and others didn’t get the job, they were happy to step up.
“We spent months of hard selling and chasing this opportunity, and I think the fact that we were so adamant on retaining the purity of the first Pirates movie really helped them choose us. Either that or we were the cheapest thing on the budget,” Sandberg joked.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that the supernatural elements of the franchise would remain and that part of the movie would be set in New Orleans.
Johnny Depp will of course be reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, and Geoffrey Rush is expected back as Barbossa. Initial reports indicated that Penelope Cruz, introduced in the fourth film, would return, but that now seems questionable.
Penelope Cruz should return! Keep her!!
