William ‘Pookie’ Deputy, age 36, was taken into custody without incident Saturday morning and will now faces charges in a double homicide case.

“We found him in a second floor bedroom,” police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said. “It was a smooth operation. We didn’t have to break down any doors because his girlfriend answered the door and nobody got hurt. Our SWAT team and other officers entered the house with the Philadelphia homicide fugitive task force and U.S. Marshals, a 30-man team…The entry was so quick he never had a chance to get out of bed.”

According to Chitwood, Deputy, considered armed and dangerous, was wanted for a Feb. 22 double homicide in Philadelphia involving the murder of Antorie Coates, age 35, and Alida Maria Cruz, age 30, were shot multiple times and burned beyond recognition inside of their 2001 Ford Windstar.

“Detectives recovered video surveillance footage from the area,” Philadelphia Detective Theodore Hagan wrote in the document. “Antorie Coates was supposed to meet ‘Pookie’ to buy some weed.”

Hagan revealed the video shows a man exiting the driver’s side door and pouring the contents of a gas can into the interior of the minivan. Deputy reportedly had a Great Dane type of dog on a leash that he tied to a nearby fire hydrant before allegedly torching the van. Witnesses reported hearing a “muffled explosion” and observing the same male running from the scene.
