Philippines: Charges filed against six in the murder of Kae Davantes
At least six suspects in the senseless slaying of a young Las Pinas advertising executive have been charged with several crimes including murder, according to Philippine National Police (PNP) today.
Charged with car napping, the robbery and murder of 25-year-old Kristelle “Kae” Davantes include Reggie Diel, Lloyd Benedict Enriquez, Samuel Decimo, Kelvin Jorek Evangelista, Jomar Pepito and Baser Minalang.
According to accounts of the morning of Sept. 7, the gang grabbed Davantes as she pulled up in her car at her home in Las Pinas.
Holding her at gunpoint, they drove her away. Several hours later, Davantes’ body was found hogtied, stabbed and strangled in Cavite.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR) filed the charges before Prosecutor Omar Casimiro of the National Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice.
On the Justice for Kae Facebook page, her family wrote yesterday:
This is our cause.
To seek help without repay.
We make each sympathy our strength,
Every support to our advantage.
Because we’re here for only one purpose,
To find truth for our beloved.
We’ve been hurt, distressed, and anguished.
Still, we come united and determined.
We thank the many who tried to ease the pain,
Trying to mend what could not be undone.
To the few who will try to dishearten us,
We will never stop!
Soon there will be justice,
Justice for Kae!
Yes, soon their will be justice for Kae.
