Police in Pennsylvania are investigating a stillborn baby boy found in a Mercer convenience store restroom Thursday.
Mercer police Chief Brad Shrawder confirmed that the baby was found in a toilet at the Sheetz at 105 N. Erie St.
Shrawder said the boy, who was about 20-24 weeks old, was found just before 3 p.m.
He did not provide any additional information.
The store’s surveillance tapes are being reviewed in hopes of identifying the mother.
“It’s under investigation,” Shrawder said. “We are still looking for the mother.”
Mercer County Coroner John A. Libonati pronounced the baby dead at 5:30 p.m.
