Patrick Stewart talks ‘X-Men Days of Future Past,’ says the best yet, perhaps a ‘blockbuster’
Patrick Stewart was in Texas for Comicpalooza and the star had to address questions and discuss the new X-Men film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, with the fans.
“I think it is going to certainly be the X-Men of all X-Men pictures, and one doesn’t want to tempt fate, but perhaps also the blockbuster of 2014. It was a wonderful experience to reunited with those people.”
Even Stewart had to confess he was a bit confused on how they would bring back the Professor after his fate in X-Men: Last Stand.
“It’s been 6 or 7 years since X-Men 3, where you will recall that Charles Xavier was vaporized by what’s-her-name, Jean Grey. And you’re asking yourselves, ‘If you were vaporized, how can you be in the next X-Men movie?’ Anybody got any ideas how that came about?”
“Time travel,” yells a fan.
“Yeah, that’s exactly it. I guess. There will be an explanation, but it was a little puzzling for me because I thought my X-Men days were over. So, it’s something to look forward to.”
Even fans that have read the original Day Of Future Past comic-book run, how they are going to link the First Class crew up with their Last Stand colleagues (as well as The Wolverine) remains to be seen.
As well as Stewart, the crammed cast list includes Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Fan Bingbing, Anna Paquin and Daniel Cudmore.
UPDATE: Days of Future Past will now be released on May 23, 2014.
X-Men Days Of Future Past will be with us on July 17 2014.
