Panama remains may be missing California woman Yvonne Baldelli
Partial remains of a Southern California woman who has been missing for two years may have been found in Panama.
The FBI believes a skull found in Isla Carenero, Panama is that of 42-year-old Yvonne Baldelli of Dana Point, Calif., according to Fox News.
The article reports that “On Tuesday, a Panamanian resident who lives on Isla Carenero found a “green military style” backpack containing a human skull and some bones, but not a complete skeleton. The bag also contained women’s clothing, according to law enforcement.
“We are proceeding under the assumption it could very well be the remains of Yvonne Baldelli, which will of course have to be proven through comprehensive scientific and forensic testing,” an investigator told Panama Guide.
Baldelli was last seen on November 26, 2011 on the Carenero Island in Panama where she had moved with her boyfriend, Brian Brimager.
In June, Brimager was arrested on charges of obstructing justice in connection with Baldelli’s disappearance.
Brimager performed an Internet search for “washing mattress blood stain” just one day after Baldelli went missing. Authorities are researching leads that Brimager was physically abusive toward Baldelli.
