Charged was Scott A. Burger, 37, of 5741 Stevens Drive, on unspecified federal drug charges.

The several month ongoing investigation identified Burger as a suspect and were able to establish two separate crops locations.

According to the sheriff’s office, a Sheriff’s Air-1 helicopter was used to locate and direct drug investigators to the illegal crops where they harvested and approximately 230 marijuana plants. The estimated street value of the illegal drug is said to be approximately $500,000 dollars.

Detectives seized 34 plants Burger is accused of cultivating approximately 200 feet off the shoreline of the Seneca River near the 10000 block of Caughdenoy Road. Over 160 marijuana plants were recovered from inside Burger’s Town of Cicero home where investigators uncovered an irrigation system that ran from his house to a wooded area concealing another 32 plants.

Burger is currently being held without bail at the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail and is scheduled to appear in Federal Court

Have Your Say
  1. Ryan Hornfeck says:

From pics of plants it is safe to say at MOST this crop would yield about $170,000. This is kind of modest for all the work involved but totally respectable. This man is facing a minimum sentence of 5 years in federal prison for trying to provide a medicine and safe intoxicant to people in an area that are unjustly denied access to medicinal marijuana. He is the hero, guess who the villains are?
