‘One More Try’ named ‘Best Picture’ at 38th Metro Manila Film Festival Awards
Filipino romantic drama, “One More Try”, won the top award of Best Picture at the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Thursday at the Meralco Theatre in Pasig City.
The film featuring an all-star cast including Angelica Panganiban, Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo and Angel Locsin pulled in six awards total to include Best Actor award for Dingdong Dantes ( a back-to-back winner in this category) and the inaugural Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award for Excellence.
The historical drama, “El Presidente”, a bioepic film based on the life of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the Philippine Republic received the most awards at the MMFF Thursday with eight including 2nd Best Picture behind “One More Try”.
Veteran actress, Nora Aunor won the Best Actress award for her role in the film “Thy Womb”.
