‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4: Michael Socha, John Rhys-Davies, SDCC and ‘Frozen’ details

There’s a ton of new for the upcoming season of Once Upon a Time. Most exciting for fans is the first look at Elsa from Frozen comes to live-action.

Lana Parrilla also said Regina has come a long way from being the “badass Evil Queen” to “realising her potential to love someone,” to “meeting her true love.” Digital Spy further quoted her as saying, “I’m proud of [Regina’s] growth.”

A great video from We Live Film is below and captures the SDCC panel. Michael Socha as the Knave of Hearts will indeed be the only carryover from Wonderland.(more below)

“Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis told us that they deliberately did not put a twist on the Frozen characters [as seen in the 2013 Disney movie],” EOnline’s Kristin Dos Santos reported, adding that OUAT 4 “will pick up with Anna planning her wedding to Kristoff.”

Scott Michael Foster plays Anna’s fiancé Kristoff. Incidentally, the show’s ABC Web page is teasing a reindeer presence in its recently released photos.

According to Inquistr, there’s a theory that OUAT will tweak the story to make it appear that Queen Elsa’s mother is still alive even if she presumably died in Frozen.

Writer Edward Kitsis confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that “Elizabeth Mitchell’s character is connected both to the world of Arendelle and the world of Storybrooke.” Inquistr also reported that, based on the previous report by EW, Elizabeth Mitchell’s character might be the “malevolent” Snow Queen which could set up an Ice vs. Ice battle with Queen Elsa.

The E! News revealed that Prince Hans-like character will have a recurring role when the series resumes. The character is described as “refined and well-spoken on the outside, but he has a serious chip on his shoulder and an even more serious mean streak.”

The ensemble fantasy series returns for Season 4 on September 28.
