Ohio man attacks and shoots wife while she’s in ICU at hospital

Police have arrested an Ohio man who stormed into a hospital ICU and shot her in front of her doctor.

John Wise, age 66, entered Akron General Medical Center on Saturday and fired one shot at his wife, Barbara, of 45 years.

News Net 5 confirms that there was a doctor in the room at the time of the incident. The doctor was not injured as a hospital security guard was able to get the gun away from the man.

Police have detained Wise as his wife passed away on Sunday morning and authorities suspect that this was a mercy killing.

Barbara Wise had been admitted to Akron General a few days ago with a life-threatening condition.
