In addition to discussing the problems with the Obamacare website during his appearance on Fox News Sunday, Will says employers cutting coverage will prove to be even more impactful.
“100 million people get their insurance from Medicare and Medicaid, 171 million get it from their employers,” Will said. “Watch the employers. Because if they start dumping people into Medicare and into Medicaid, and the doctors then say, ‘The burdens are too high, and the reimbursement is too low, we’re not seeing Medicaid patients,’ then all hell is going to break loose.”
The WSJ published details on how employers view and plan to react to Obamacare.
“The survey also reveals that the “49er” effect is very real. These are businesses that will cap their full-time payroll workforce at 49 employees to avoid ObamaCare’s insurance mandate for companies with more than 50 full-time equivalent workers. Of firms with between 40 and 70 employees, a little over half say they are likely to “make personnel decisions to keep” their “workforce below the threshold of 50 full-time employees and avoid the requirements and penalties associated with the new health care la,'” the article states.
