North Carolina: Sara Hill identified as murder suicide victim with a few more details emerging
Details continue to emerge this morning regarding a North Carolina murder suicide in Johnston County that left two 14-year-olds dead.
Sara Hill, 14, was one of the two teens found dead and reported to the Johnston County sheriff office Monday. Information came to light on a GoFundMe request for funeral expenses. WRAL reports a third teen, but there is no confirmation yet.
“The Hill family has had a tragedy happen. Their daughter Sara Hill was killed in the murder-suicide case. As a result the family is needing help for the funeral expenses, the GoFundMe reads. The fundraiser has already raised $1,556 out of a $5,000 goal since Tuesday as of Thursday morning.
Hill’s family members said in an interview Wednesday that it’s going to be difficult for them to move on, explaining that she was homeschooled and recently signed up to compete in a beauty pageant.
The family told WRAL that Sara had been friends with the teenage boy for a couple years and wanted to be a good friend.
She went over to visit the boy Monday at his request, and the family says she never came home.
Recently released 911 calls revealed that Leonard Hill, the girl’s father, was present when the bodies were found, WRAL reports.
Capt. Jeff Caldwell of the Sheriff’s Office stated the victims were male and female, not identifying either.
The bodies were found by the father of the male victim, Caldwell said.
The male student attended West Johnston High School and the female was homeschooled, according to Caldwell.
No suicide note was found at the scene.
According to WRAL, an incident report lists three juveniles as victims.
The sheriff’s office has only publicly mentioned two people, a “high school age” girl and boy, in the murder-suicide case.
