Normaya Mokhtar, Japanese teacher, found dead with 7 month old son

A Japanese language teacher at the Sekolah Menengah Sains Bagan Datoh was found dead next to seven month old son at the teachers’ living quarters.

Normaya Mokhtar, age 33, was found by a colleague who declined to be identified by the Malaysian Digest, lying on a mattress with her baby.

“I sent an SMS to Normaya regarding work on Wednesday, but she did not reply and I tried calling her but failed,” she told reporters Thursday.

The co-worker headed to Normaya’s house used a spare key to let herself inside after her knocks were unanswered.

Mokhtar was rushed to the nearest hospital where doctors confirmed that Normaya died of a heart attack.

The child was asleep in his dead mother’s arms. Her husband was away at work during these events.

No foul play is suspected.

Sekolah Menengah Sains Bagan Datoh is a boarding school in Malaysia.
