New Zealand man, David William Wakefield, arrested for molesting two teenage girls in Davao
A New Zealand man was arrested in Davao City Thursday for he molestation of two young girls, according to a SunStar Davao report Oct. 27.
The man has been identified as 50-year-old David William Wakefield who works for Mozambique-based Mecs Labor Hiring Company.
Wakefield was accused of molesting the two teenage girls from Kidapawan City, aged 12 and 13, according to reports.
Superintendent Renante Cabico, chief of the Kidapawan City police said the girls led police to Wakefield, who was about to check out from his hotel for his travel back to South Africa.
According to the report, the victims said they were recruited by two women, who promised them P1500 each, at the city’s public market and were brought to Davao City where they were raped, photographed and given sexually transmitted diseases, presumably from the suspect.
Police also reportedly recovered Wakefield’s phone, which contained nude photos of the underage girls.
Wakefield, citing as basis the statements of the victims, including the nude photos of the teenage girls taken from his mobile phone, is facing multiple counts of statutory rape, and violations of Human Trafficking Act and Anti-Child Abuse Act.
