From Irish marching bands to encounters with leprechauns, this event is perfect for people of all ages. So, whether you are traveling to New York by yourself or with the kiddos, the St. Patricks’ Day Parade is an event you won’t want to miss out on.

Macy’s Flower Show

Another event that is worth visiting while in New York during the spring is the Macy’s Flower Show. The two-week long event is full of fun activities, including flower-centric seminars, live music and much more. This is another event that is kid-friendly and perfect for people of all ages. Although there will be lots of people in attendance, the atmosphere is laid back and very enjoyable.

Brooklyn Folk Festival

If you are a folk lover, then the Brooklyn Folk Festival is worth coming to. The three-day event provides a little bit of something for everyone, including a banjo-toss contest, lots of swing dancing, plenty of film screenings and more. Mixed in with the folk music events are a ton of Irish and Balkan music performances, making it perfect for people with a broadened taste in folk music.

Knowing What to Pack When Traveling to New York During the Spring

The weather in New York during the springtime is quite unpredictable, this is why you are going to want to pack quite heavily. The nighttime here is likely going to be on the cooler side, with some nights dipping down into the teens, so packing a winter coat and even some snow boots are highly recommended. During the day, however, it is likely going to be on the warmer side and possibly rainy.

So, bringing along a raincoat, rain boots and even a wind jacket will be a good idea. You will also want to pack according to the activities that you plan on taking part in.
