New ‘Walking Dead’ season 5 puts Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun in danger, new ad banners
The Walking Dead actors Steven Yeun and Lauren Cohan take center stage in a new pair of photos from season 5.
Both photos reveal the danger around the characters and, based on the background, appear to be on the move at Terminus. Walkers surround Maggie and Glenn in each prospective photo as the actor looks off to the side.
“Hunt or be Hunted” is the message in the ad campaign as AMC dropped two new promotional photos of the cast, primed for action and one of star Andrew Lincoln.
Movie Pilot noted in the Sept. 3 article that “This could possibly be hinting at the cannibal storyline the season may be following concerning the people of Terminus and with this poster showing a very determined Rick holding his gun, I’d say he’s out for some blood himself.”
Two other newly released photos reveal Carol and Daryl reunited as well as Rick back-to-back with Norman Reedus’ Daryl armed against an attack. Check out both of those photos below.
In an interview with the AMC TV blog, David Alpert, TWD executive producer, discussed the theme of the upcoming season.
“I think with Season 4, [showrunner] Scott Gimple really focused on whether you can get away from the things that you’ve done. Can you turn your back on your past? I think Season 5 is a response to that, in that you are what you’ve done, where you’ve been and where you’re from,” he said.
Lincoln seemed to confirm this, saying his character is at the “most complete place” since the show started and has “accepted his brutality as much as his humanity.”
The Walking Dead season 5 premieres on October 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
