New ‘Spectre’ video: Sam Mendes talks, Stephanie Sigman a new Bond girl
A new video from the James Bond set, the 24th film in the franchise, Spectre, features director Sam Mendes revealing details about the roles for Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw. From the Bond twitter feed comes news that Stephanie Sigman has signed on to the film as well.
This is the second video blog from the set as Mendes and company attempts to follow the massive success of his Skyfall, the biggest in the franchise’s history.
Mendes says Spectre “a movie entirely driven by Bond” and says it is “tied to the second part of the crucial story of Bond’s chlidhood.” He also notes that in Skyfall, he initiated Fiennes as M, Harris as Moneypenny and Whishaw as Q, and “wanted to tell the next stage of their stories and develop them as characters” as they take on great risk in this installment.
The official Twitter account unveiled a new promotional image of Sigman as the mysterious character Estrella.
We are pleased to announce that @SigmanStephanie has joined the cast of #SPECTRE as Estrella – @007
Sigman is a veteran of the crime drama series The Bridge, and has also starred in several Spanish-language films and television shows.
Spectre stars the aforementioned cast and Christoph Waltz as Franz Oberhausr, Léa Seydoux as the psychiatrist Dr Madeleine Swann, Andrew Scott as a British government government operative and Dave Bautista as the vicious assassin Hinx.
