New report: Donald Trump right on immigration, crime

A writer at Family Security Matters published an article analyzing the illegal immigration problem in America, noting that many of the critics “owe Mr. Trump an apology.”

Quoting data from the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics, the analysis begins with the estimate “that there are some 133,741 foreign criminals in prisons and jails in the USA” for “molesting, raping, killing, maiming and murdering people in America.”

“Add in the 168,680 convicted criminal immigrants who have final orders of removal but who remain at large in the U.S., and another 179,018 convicted criminal aliens with deportation cases pending but who are also at large…,” the article follows, citing reports from ICE.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best; they’re not sending you,” Trump said in his presidential announcement speech regarding illegal immigration. “They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”

Trump has been attacked by critics and fellow GOP candidates. One analysis tries to illustrate the increase of illegals hasn’t led to more rape, since the number of rape cases is actually down.

Using the government’s data, the question now should be: How low would crime in America be if it were not for illegals and how much money would be saved by deporting them instead of incarcerating them.

Family Security Matters goes much, much deeper, but keeps validating Trump claims:

  • “The percentage of all federal prisoners who are criminal aliens has remained the same over the last 3 years–about 27 percent.” – GAO data.
  • …according to Jessica M. Vaughan, Director of Policy Studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, the 36,007 criminal immigrants that the Obama administration released in 2013 to prowl the streets of America
  • Obama administration released another 30,558 criminal immigrants, who had a total of 79,059 convictions, into America to mingle with its unsuspecting, innocent, law-abiding citizens.

Then the shock factor kicks into overdrive by listing “Just a selection of Crimes Committed against Americans by Illegals” — there are dozens with the links to the stories.
