New poster for ‘Dark Tower’ features Idris Elba, Tom Taylor: ‘may your days be long upon the earth’
Sony Pictures offered up another teaser for director Nikolaj Arcel’s big screen adaptation of The Dark Tower, the popular Stephen King series of novels, with a new poster.
The poster features The Gunslinger Roland Deschain (Idris Elba) and Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor), along with the ominous repeated greeting from Stephen King’s source novels, “may your days be long upon the earth.” The Man In Black will be played by Matthew McConaughey.
Check out the poster below.
Collider notes that “…the film is essentially acting as a sequel of sorts, as it picks up after the book’s events have taken place, but also as part of a repeating cycle of events that continues to occur (trying to be intentionally vague here so as not to spoil things).”
While the film has had a long pre-production and development process, fans are eager to see some footage via a teaser trailer.
King authored eight books in the Dark Tower series over the past thirty years and Ron Howard has taken the lead on getting the big project to film after years and years of delays and failures.
The Dark Tower also stars Jackie Earle Haley, Fran Kranz, Katheryn Winnick, and Abby Lee.
Claudia Kim is playing a character named Arra Champignon, Haley as Sayre, Lee as Tirana.
The Dark Tower is currently set to be released on July 28, 2017.
