New ‘Poltergeist’ poster put scary clown forward, new trailer
A new international poster for the Poltergeist reboot/sequel will send fans back to the 1980s with the creepy clown staring back.
The new trailer continues to excite and terrorize in hopes to attract fans of the 1982 film by Tobe Hooper (produced by Steven Spielberg) while tapping into the 2015 fans of “scary” flicks.
The synopsis for the new film states: “Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (producer) reimagines and contemporizes the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.”
Poltergeist stars Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, Saxon Sharbino, and Jane Adams, along with 8-year-old Kennedi Clements as Madison, a clear homage on the iconic Carol Anne (Heather O’Rourke) from the original film.
Poltergeist arrives in theaters on May 22, 2015.
