New ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ trailer and photos features Kermit, Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and dancing penguins
Disney has released the first teaser trailer and some new images for director James Bobin’s sequel Muppets Most Wanted.
In the sequel, the gang is on a successful tour in Europe but gets into trouble when Kermit gets confused with his jewel-heisting doppelganger, Constantine.
Ricky Gervais plays Constantine’s sidekick, Tina Fey plays a Russian prison guard, and Ty Burrell plays an Interpol agent.
This first teaser trailer appears to be geared towards very young audiences with a very short sneak at Gervais’ performances, but from the brief glimpses it looks like Fey and Burrell will be scene-stealers.

The majority of the creative team behind the first film is back, including Bobin as director and co-writer and Nicholas Stoller as the screenwriter, so here’s hoping they strike a similar tone as well.
Muppets Most Wanted opens on March 21, 2014.
Here’s the official synopsis for Muppets Most Wanted:
Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais, creator of “Derek” and the Golden Globe®- and Emmy®-winning series “The Office” and “Extras.” The film stars Golden Globe-, Emmy- and SAG Award®-winning actress and writer Tina Fey (“30 Rock,” “Mean Girls,” “Date Night”) as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Emmy Award winner Ty Burrell (TV’s “Modern Family”) as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.
