The other Qatari case involved a patient who was treated in Germany in October and eventually recovered.

The report notes that the current patient  reportedly felt the symptoms while abroad, but underwent a check-up upon his arrival in Qatar.

MERS-CoV was confirmed by the National Influenza Laboratory.

With this new case, it brings the global total of MERS-CoV cases to 97, with 47 cases ending in death. The World Health Organization has yet to report the case.
