“Due to the ongoing investigation by Human Services Police, they did not provide much more information other than the fact that he was located outside of Ewing Township,” the statement said.

Haynes, 22, was indicted for stabbing a woman he did not know at a Bed, Bath and Beyond store in Middletown in 2013. He was 18 at the time.

The victim, Kerri Dalton, who was pushing a baby carriage and shopping for curtains, was stabbed over twenty times. Dalton was found soaked in blood and with two punctured lungs after managing to call 911.

Dalton was able to survive her injuries after stay at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

When Ewing Police issued the alert to residents Saturday they said, “This individual should be considered dangerous, and if seen please call 911 immediately.”

No details were released about Hayne’s escape or ability to leave the facility.

The Middletown HS North graduate had been previously charged with burning an adopted cat to death with a makeshift torch on Christmas Eve, police said.
