New ‘Insurgent’ poster reveals Shailene Woodley’s Tris with short hair, 3-D release confirmed
Lionsgate couldn’t break through all of the Marvel news this week despite releasing a 3D-motion posters as their marketing campaign for the Divergent sequel, Insurgent begins. All of the stars are featured here: Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer and Zoe Kravitz.
In addition to the cool design, this is the fan’s first look at Woodley’s Tris with short hair and confirms rumors that the film will indeed be released in 3D, “a first for the series and a relatively rare choice for the female-skewing, fantasy-based young-adult literature sub-genre,” notes Forbes magazine as they proceeded to analyze the financial impact for the series.
Insurgent is the second in the Veronica Roth series and Wired offered this synopsis: “In Insurgent, directed by Robert Schwentke, Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) are fugitives looking for allies after rebelling against the Erudite elite at the end of Divergent. (Tough-as-nails Erudite leader Jeanine Matthews/Kate Winslet is hunting them down.) These new posters don’t give away too much about what else is coming in the second film in the Divergent franchise, but judging by the weapons in the charaters’ hands, it’s not all hugs and handshakes.”
The first teaser trailer is rumored to be attached to Hunger Games: Mockingjay which opens Nov. 21.
The film also stars Naomi Watts, Ray Stevenson, Octavia Spencer, Jai Courtney and Hunter Burke.
