New ‘Godzilla’ poster puts the monster center in fiery blaze of destruction
Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have released a new poster for director Gareth Edwards’ upcoming monster remake Godzilla.
The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, and Elizabeth Olsen and “pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s arrogance, threaten our very existence.”
A new poster released via Yahoo! Movies doesn’t reveal any new details other than the view from behind as fans can get a view of the beast scale, standing tall over the city.
Cranston went on ET Canada and described his experience.
“As a kid, Godzilla was my creature of choice, oh yeah,” he said. “I loved the absolute destructive nature of this beast.”
“They’re taking a very restrained approach to this. Much like ‘Jaws’ did, Steven Spielburg didn’t always show the beast. His essence is present and it’s there … and it’s creepy. So you know the tension will mount.”
Godzilla “doesn’t know how to express himself other than eating people, I don’t know,” said star Sally Hawkins.
The film also stars Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe, and David Strathairn.
Godzilla opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on May 16th.
