New ‘Bates Motel’ teaser and poster reveal ‘A Boy’s Best friend is his mother’

A&E is promising the new drama series, “Bates Motel,” a prequel to the classic “Psycho” film, to be the dark, twisted backstory of Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga), truly is.

The first key art for the series underlines that with a shot of Norman and Norma, sitting on the edge of the bed in a Bates Motel room, and the tagline, “A boy’s best friend is his mother.”

Simultaneously, A&E also has released a new teaser for show featuring similar imagery.

The series also stars Max Thieriot (Disconnect), Olivia Cooke (Blackout), Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender), Nestor Carbonell (“Lost,” The Dark Knight Rises) and Mike Vogel (“Pan Am”).

“Bates Motel,” from executive producers Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights), premieres March 18.

Thanks for including the teaser Brandon! I watched it a bunch of times in my office and honestly it just gets creepier each time I watch! I am very excited to see how the show will turn out though, so I will make sure to set a recording timer for it on my DISH
