New ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ photos, synopsis as Dane DeHaan avoids Green Goblin questions
Sony Pictures have released five new stills from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, a synopsis and a star dodging details ahead of the new trailer set to land this week.
“The trailer comes out in three days, and a lot will be revealed then,” Dane DeHaan told MTV News at the Gotham Independent Film Awards.
When asked about the image on the new poster, which appears to be DeHaan’s Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin, DeHaan would only comment: “I’m an Osborn. It’s a blurry photo. Just wait until you see the trailer. I’m really excited for everybody to see it and for people to learn all sorts of things about it and see how kick-ass it’s going to be.”
The new photos don’t offer anything new, but the synopsis omits Chris Cooper, who was cast as Norman Osborne. Fans are quick to question the importance of this fact. Check out the synopsis below.
The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field.
Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release on May 2, 2014
Synopsis: We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.
