Naire McCormick identified as the victim in Brooklyn murder suicide, killed by Jancy Dempster
Police identified the woman shot and killed Sunday in a Brooklyn murder-suicide as Naire McCormick, a NYPD school safety officer.
McCormick, 44, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head around 11:45 p.m. yesterday as police responded to a 911 call at an apartment at Clermont and Flushing avenues.
Authorities identified Jancy Dempster, 47, as the man who murdered McCormick before turning the gun on himself, while his cousin and McCormick’s 12-year-old son were in the next room.
Police met the teens in the hallways as the pair fled the apartment after hearing the gunshots.
The gun was found near Dempster and both were declared dead at the scene with head wounds.
While police consider the investigation as ongoing, but are treating this case as murder suicide.
Witnesses told authorities that an argument was heard in the apartment just prior to the shooting.
The couple had reportedly been celebrating Dempster’s birthday before witnesses reported hearing an argument.
Photos on a Facebook page indicate that McCormick was also involved in runway modeling, and was named the 2018 “Face of Kurvacious.”
