Naghmeh Abedini’s letter to President Obama: ‘imagine the pain’

President Obama is set to head out west, passing through Idaho and Naghmeh Abedini is reaching out to get the most powerful man on the planet to meet with about getting her husband free from an Iranian prison.

From Facebook she writes: “My letter to President Obama asking him to meet with the kids and I while he is in Boise. It also includes a sweet Facebook post that Saeed had posted right after he became a US citizen! smile emoticon Praying that the Lord would touch Obama’s heart and that he meets with the kids andI while he is here in Boise.”

Here’s the letter, so please join Naghmeh that it is well received.

Pastor Saeed Abedini Iran prisonDear Mr. President:

My heart leapt with hope when I heard that you would be visiting my home town of Boise, Idaho. Since the Iranian government took my husband, Saeed Abedini, almost 3 years ago, I have been praying and wanting to meet with you. With each of my travels to Washington D.C., I
hoped that I would get a call, or an invitation to see you and to speak with you. To have you look into my eyes and see the piercing pain that has been there since my husband’s imprisonment; to see my kids and to know that they have missed the warm embrace of their dad for nearly three years.

You are a father. Imagine the pain and anguish Saeed has experienced knowing that he has missed seeing his children grow up. The last time Saeed held his daughter she was 5; now she is 8. Imagine the repeated nightly cries of my children, only for them to wake up each morning to that reality that his absence was not a bad dream.

You are a father, so I ask you to imagine.

Saeed AbediniServing as President of the United States, you have pledged to protect America – to protect our
citizens. My husband loves this country. So much so, he became a U.S. citizen on March 11,
2010. The following day he shared on Facebook these words: “Today is the first day I opened
my eyes as an American. . . . I need to be an active citizen for my new country, Lord help me to
do your will in my country America. Lord Bless America.” You speak about the need to protect
religious freedom and human rights. Saeed is imprisoned merely because of his Christian faith.
My husband has committed no crime – he chose to exercise his God-given right to choose his
own faith.

Mr. President, my children have made a video asking you to help bring their daddy home
(http://youtu.be/_UW_fJmRv2g). I ask you to watch it and see the rawness of their tears. You
will get a glimpse of their daily suffering.

Mr. President, my children and I respectfully request, as you come to our home town of Boise,
Idaho, that you take a moment of your time to meet with us. Such a meeting would go a long
way in instilling faith that the leader of our country considers our sufferings important and that
you are committed to reuniting our family.

With much respect and appreciation,
Naghmeh, Rebekka, and Jacob Abedini

Have Your Say
  1. John Stefanyszyn says:

As per Mr. Saeed..”.Prisoner for Christ, who is proud to be part of this great nation of the United States of America that cares for religious freedom across the world.”

Mr. Saeed, how can you place your claimed love for Christ and your love for religious freedom in the same pot?

Religious freedom, freedom of religion / all religions, confesses and dictates that it is RIGHT (a right) to be free to worship ANY ‘god’ as per one’s self justification.

The One Creator , on the other hand, commanded the Israelites to worship Only Him. He did not give them the freedom, nor say to them that they were free to worship other gods, other religions.

The Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the One and Only Creator God, said that we are to worship Only the One Lord Your God and Him Alone to serve.

As you can clearly see Mr. Saeed, you cannot love Christ and the freedom to worship other ‘gods’ at the same time. You imply that the freedom to worship ANY god is good…then Christ must be one of those ANY gods in your life that you worship under the umbrella of FREEDOM of religion.

Very soon, the Lord Jesus Christ will return to rule the earth as the One King according to the Will of ‘I AM’, of the One Who Gives Existence to All that Exists, and NOT according to man’s first love for “his freedom”, for his desire to serve and magnify oneself (XES).

The Lord Jesus Christ said to repent and serve Only Him.
