Naghmeh Abedini shares Christmas message from Pastor Saeed
For more than two years, Pastor Saeed Abedini has been held unjustly in an Iranian jail, tortured by his captors and denied medical treatment. His wife, Naghmeh Abedini shared a message from the Pastor on Christmas day.
“For Saeed, the message of Christmas is that love transformed his life,” Naghmeh said. “He was willing to lay down his life for the oprhans and go back to Iran to serve the needy.”
“For us, the message of Christmas – and I know Saeed is experiencing it right now – is no religion can get you through the hard times,” she said. “Only a relationship with God, through what Jesus Christ did on the cross, the forgiveness of sins, can get you through the worst times in life, give you peace and joy, as Saeed has experienced in prison.”
“The kids and I have so much peace because of this relationship with God through Jesus Christ. That’s the message of Christmas for us. We celebrate that this babe was born into the world to pay for our sins.”
More from the Fox News coverage:
“It might be necessary to come out of the comfort of our lives and leave the loving embrace of our family to enter the manger of the lives of others, such as it has been for me for the third consecutive Christmas,” Abedini wrote in his letter.
“It may be that we will be called fools and traitors and face many difficulties, but we should crucify our will and wishes even more until the world hears and tastes the true meaning of Christmas.”
