Pastor Saeed Abedini is a Christian pastor who has been jailed in Iran’s Evin Prison, arrested now for over one year.

His wife, Naghmeh Abedini, spoke with Dispatch Radio to detail the arrest and imprisonment timeline as well as provide an update on the upcoming prayer vigil in September.
Pastor Abedini has been brutally tortured and sent to solitary confinement twice. He was in Iran building an orphanage, a project approved by the government; therefore, he never felt the need to leave the country – even after the initial house arrest.
“He has been dealing with a lot of pain and internal bleeding since he was taken to solitary confinement which has been horrific in itself…two times, attempts to break him and have him recant his faith. He’s gone through a lot the last year.”
Naghmeh was able to speak before the UN and “keep Iran accountable of their own laws” and other international laws earlier this year. This is one area she says his “imprisonment was not in vain” after seeing the response from world leaders.
