Muslim cleric encourages Christian woman and girls to be kidnapped or raped, ‘friends of the Zionists’

A Muslim cleric has issued a fatwa threatening Iraqi Christians unless they convert to Islam, but the country’s prime minister urged them to stay.

The details and translations emerged Saturday of a December 13 interview on Egyptian television Al Baghdadia. During the discussion the Shiite ayatollah Ahmad Al Hassani Al Baghdadi issued a that against Christians in Iraq.

Labeling them as “polytheists” and “friends of the Zionists”, the leader stressed that they must choose “or Islam or death,” while “their women and girls may legitimately be regarded wives of Muslims.”

This last statement regarding the females is the Muslim indirect way of authorizing any Christian woman or girl may be captured and raped, even if she is already married, within Islam captive women may be raped by their captors.

The command of Al Baghdadi to the Christian minority in Iraq is “conversion to Islam or death.”

Iraq’s Christians have been subjected to kidnappings and murders following the US-led invasion in 2003. As a result, thousands of Christians have fled the nation: their numbers have fallen from 1.5 million in 1990 to less than 400,000 today.

Many Christians have left for the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan where Christians are relatively well-treated.

Its so sad to read such statments especially today on X-mas day as i and many Muslims world wide r greeting our Christian friends and people we know. There is no such fatwa and not everyone who claims to be a scholar or shaikh is a real one. I ask the writers if this article to go back to the source and talk to people in Iraq about this and they will know the truth.
    Also i noticed the followng
“Egyptian television Al Baghdadia. ” al baghdadia is an iraqi tv not egyptian.

    Merry X-mas and happy holidays

As a muslim I will be the first one to stand up against this fatwa. No where in islam we r taught to disrepect the people of the book or anyone else.

We r to provide them with shelter when they need it and no forced conversions.

    Please read the quran.
