Movie News: ‘GI Joe 3’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ get new writer,
Marvel may be making headlines as Avengers: Age of Ultron comes to theaters, Captain Marvel is confirmed to be moving ahead with a writer and the “list” has been dropped.
THR reports that Nicole Perlman, who wrote the draft of Guardians of the Galaxy that got that movie on track, and Meg LeFauve, who co-wrote Pixar’s Inside Out, will be the duo to get the first female solo film moving ahead.
Expect news and some setup as Captain Marvel won’t arrive in theaters until July 6, 2018.

Paramount had hired D.J. Caruso to direct and screenwriter Jonathan Lemkin was working on the script, but now news has broken that another screenwriter has been hired, suggesting Lemkin’s work wasn’t what they wanted.
The studio has hired Aaron Berg, the writer of the spy film Section 6, to work his version and submit a rewrite.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of Berg’s G.I. Joe 3 hiring, but their post mention Lemkin or the direction the film is going in. While fans and critics were too thrilled with the first two films, each of which grossed $300 million worldwide.
